Morris minor 100
- Beautiful original Minor 1000
- UK V5 registration but currently in the Netherlands
- Owned by current owner for over 35 years
- An honest, well cared for car
Developed in secret during World War II, the Morris Minor was designed as a replacement for the aging pre-war Morris Eight and was a combination of ideas put together by Morris' chief designer, Alec Issigonis.
It made its debut at the 1948 Earl's Court Motor Show and sold more than 1.2 million units, with production running for the past 23 years.
Minor's peak came with the Minor 1000 in 1956 - equipped with a 948cc engine and capable of 70 mph. In 1962 the engine was enlarged to 1,098cc and a fully synchronized gearbox was added, while in 1964 it received a key starter and a simpler instrument panel.
This example is one of the later examples, more usable and practical than earlier examples, but still with all the charm and curves that define the model.
It has been with its current owner for 37 years, initially in the UK and later in the Netherlands where it now lives.
It is still UK registered and has a British V5C.
The Minor has been owned by the same owner since 1985. He bought the car in the UK and took it to the Netherlands, where it has been since then.
It is still UK registered and has a British V5 registration document. The car also comes with the original manual and a BMC factory workshop manual.
Interior:
Standard interior.
Light patina
Good condition
Optional heater
The light blue interior contrasts pleasantly with the dark exterior and is really well presented, with good seats, carpets, headliner and door cards.
The blue dashboard is dominated by the Minor's signature single instrument with speedometer and fuel gauge, while the entire interior has a nice patina.
It is a delightful place to be - clean, smart and with a truly charming atmosphere.
Exterior:
Partially restored
Very good paintwork
Trafalgar Blue
Although largely original, the Minor has undergone some cosmetic work over the years and the Trafalgar Blue paintwork is in nice condition, with a good shine and only a few minor cosmetic marks.
The chrome and trim are largely original and bear a gentle patina.
Technical:
1,098cc A-series
Four-speed manual transmission
Well maintained
Very good driving
Under the hood, the Minor has the 1,098cc engine with 48 horsepower, the most powerful standard unit fitted to the model. The Morris drives great and is mechanically in good condition
This is a charming example of the best variant of the Minor sedan, and a truly enjoyable, practical and easy-to-maintain classic that will be an absolute pleasure to own thanks to its mechanical simplicity and its unmistakable character.
It is a beautiful original car that the next owner will greatly enjoy.
