The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a type of car from Mercedes-Benz that was introduced in 1952. It was mainly used for racing, but due to the great interest in a production car, the 300SL Gullwing, with an exceptionally smooth body, the seagull - swing doors and a top speed of ± 260 km/h thanks to an injection engine. A Roadster version of this car was also built and parts of the 300SL were transferred to the 300 SLR Coupé.

A lot has changed about the series over the years. The car changed from a thoroughbred sports car into a sporty convertible. In addition to the SL Coupé, a convertible version was also produced. This gave the SL an even sportier character.

The car was delivered to the first owner on February 28, 1979 in Palm Springs, California. On April 28, 2009 he was registered for the first time in the Netherlands.

This classic is of good quality. The yellow paintwork forms a beautiful image together with the brown leather interior. The interior is in good condition. The seats have no tears or holes. The steering wheel and dashboard are in good condition. The same can be said about the dark brown soft top. The car is equipped with the beautiful slim chrome European bumpers. In addition, there is a windshield present, which ensures less cold air and better sound insulation. Behind the front seats there is another bench which makes room for 2, making it actually a 4-seater convertible. The original radio is also still applicable here. The original sheet metal, type plates & stickers can also be found on the 450 SL. The car is also technically completely in order, which results in a wonderful and comfortable driver's car. The 4.5 liter V8 runs nice and quiet and smoothly and the automatic transmission also shifts properly. The bodywork, both paint and chrome, is in very good condition. The car is equipped with a new radiator which ensures optimal cooling.

The previous owner had a purchase inspection done by the Mercedes-Benz specialist Wensink. This copy is damage free and has a nice hard bottom. An original service booklet is present along with the original manual. This service booklet contains the registrations from California. In addition, there is another inspection present which he passed without any problems.
