The original service booklet is still present and maintenance is therefore documented up to the odometer reading of 83,787. The car features the reliable, powerful 3.0-litre 6-cylinder coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. In addition, the SL features rare and sought-after options such as the rear bench seat, allowing even two small children to enjoy (open) touring! The trim is handsome and complete with 15-inch alloy wheels, 'Signal Red' paintwork and a hardtop. The interior features include black leather, a radio/CD player, centre armrest, outside temperature sensor and electric- windows and mirror adjustment. The car is in exceptionally nice condition inside and out. Recently, the car has been professionally cleaned and polished completely, from bottom to top. It has also been fitted with a new exhaust. The car is a versatile car to drive, lending itself well to touring and holidays thanks to its high level of comfort. But it also caters to the sporty driver, with 187 hp and excellent handling, the car is smooth and agile. Many people don't know that the C107 (coupé) had a successful racing career. In short, a timeless beauty in exceptional condition which is an addition to any collection or car enthusiast.

General information about the Mercedes-Benz SL R107
With 18 production years, the Mercedes-Benz SL R107 is the longest-running series produced by Mercedes (after the G-Class) from 1971 to 1989. That says something about the model's success. At the time, the R107 was Mercedes' only available convertible and available with various engines from a 2.8-litre 6-cylinder to a 5.6-litre V8. A nice detail of the car are the ribbed rear lights: these were designed to block dirt and keep the lighting optimal. In terms of safety, the car was way ahead of its time: it featured crumple zones and a reinforced windscreen that was supposed to protect the occupants if it flipped over. The 300 SL succeeded the 280 SL in 1985 and is a lot rarer due to its shorter production period. Known for its highly reliable engine, the 300 SL is highly sought after, especially with the optional rear seats. Only about 5% of all R107s produced were produced as 300 SLs (13,742 examples). The vast majority of R107s were equipped with a V8 engine and delivered new to the United States (approx. 2/3rds). The R107 300 SL is still a timeless, reliable and sought-after classic.
