De MG TD kwam op de markt in 1950 en was de opvolger van de MG TC. Net als voor de MG TC was Amerika voor de TD de belangrijkste afzetmarkt. Onderstel en carrosserie van de TD kwamen in grote lijnen overeen met die van de TC, de TD beschikte echter over een tandheugel-stuurinrichting en onafhankelijke wielophanging vóór. De spatborden waren anders van vorm omdat de grote 19" spaakwielen van de TC plaats hadden gemaakt voor 15" wielen. De MG TD werd gebouwd tot 1953 en opgevolgd door de MG TF.

Oorspronkelijk is deze MG nieuw geleverd in 1951 in Pennsylvania Amerika. Vanaf 2019 is deze auto in Nederland geregistreerd.

De door ons aangeboden TD is in een technisch zeer goede staat. De remmen zijn gereviseerd. Ook zijn de koperen remleidingen als nieuw. De achteras is gereviseerd en is de aandrijfas vervangen.

Deze MG TD is door restaurateur 'Ken's Classic Car Restoration' uit Pittsburgh, gerestaureerd. Hierdoor weten wij dat de auto is aangepakt door een absolute kenner. De specialist bracht de illustere MG terug in perfecte conditie.
Na deze restauratie spreekt het voor zich dat het lakwerk en de carrosserie in een geweldige conditie verkeren. De passingen van de dorpels, spatborden, portieren en motorkap sluiten goed op elkaar aan.

Ook de kleurencombinatie is zeer smaakvol te noemen, de carrosserie is gespoten in het kenmerkende MG-rood. Een zeer fraai contrast met het chroomwerk. Het rood lederen interieur is heeft als kers op de taart een zeer fraai gelakt edelhouten dashboard.

Motorisch is deze MG grondig onder handen genomen door 'Boffo motors' een motoren-specialist uit New Brighton USA. Bij deze specialist is de motor volledig opnieuw opgebouwd. Daarnaast is er door dit bedrijf de SU-carburateur revisie uitgevoerd.

De zijramen zitten in de box achter de stoelen. Het rijden met de auto rijden voelt heel erg goed aan, alles functioneert zoals dat zou moeten, tot en met alle boordinstrumenten. De techniek laat zich ook prima bedienen. De motor loopt goed, de bak schakelt soepel en de remmen zorgen voor een snelle en veilige stop.

The MG TD came on the market in 1950 and was the successor of the MG TC. As for the MG TC, America was the most important sales market for the TD. The chassis and body of the TD broadly matched those of the TC. However, the TD had rack and pinion steering and independent front suspension. The fenders were shaped differently as the large 19" spoked wheels of the TC had been replaced by 15" wheels. The MG TD was built until 1953 and succeeded by the MG TF.

Originally this MG was delivered new in 1951 in Pennsylvania America. From 2019 this car is registered in the Netherlands.

The TD offered by us is in very good technical condition. The brakes have been overhauled. The copper brake lines are also like new. The rear axle has been overhauled and the drive shaft has been replaced.

This MG TD has been restored by restorer 'Ken's Classic Car Restoration' from Pittsburgh. This way we know that the car has been handled by an absolute expert. The specialist returned the illustrious MG in perfect condition.
After this restoration, it goes without saying that the paintwork and bodywork are in great condition. The fits of the sills, fenders, doors and hood are well matched.

The color combination is also very tasteful, the body is painted in MG red. A very nice contrast with the chrome work. The red leather interior has as icing on the cake a very beautifully lacquered noble wood dashboard.

Motor-wise, this MG has been thoroughly overhauled by 'Boffo motors', an engine specialist from New Brighton USA. The engine has been completely rebuilt at this specialist. In addition, the SU carburettors were overhauled by this company.

The side windows are in the box. Driving the car feels very good. Everything functions as it should, including all on-board instruments. The technology is also easy to operate. The engine runs well, the gearbox shifts smoothly and the brakes ensure a safe stop.
