Our Porsche 911 comes from the model year 1967, which is the last year of the first series, also known as the 0-series, and according to experts the best year. This model year is known for the next desirable upgrades:
- Weber carburators replaced the troublesome Solex carburators
- Now the bumpers received a pencil thick rubber strip
- Chrome strip with pencil thick rubber strip under both doors
- Chrome finish on backrest support front seats
- The windscreen wipers faced from the left side to the right side

This Porsche 911 is one of 1,709 short-wheelbase 911 coupes produced in this model year. It rolled off the assembly line 22nd December 1966, painted Irish green (6606) trimmed in Black leatherette/B, a popular combination in that era, and still today. The first owners ordered as options, Tinted glass all Around, Antenna, Loudspeaker, Bumper horns – Front/rear, Ventilated Chrome wheels, Exterior mirror left, Wood steering Wheel, Dunlop Tires(165/15).

This 911 was delivered on March 31st 1967 to its first owner, Busick-gearing Air Conditioning Co in Sacramento. This company was to sole supplier in the USA for the Dealer installed Air-conditionings in 911’s in that period. Also, this car has been dealer fitted with this air-conditioning system because Porsche didn’t deliver this as a factory option.
In 1975 the car was purchased by teachers Neal and Barbara Lehman, who pampered the car for 24 years. Driving the car to and from the campus for many years. They retired it to the garage, where it mostly sat for about 15 years, then they sold it in 1999 to a man in a nearby town, who resold it in 2001 to a friend of his in Orange County, Nick Slevin of BDM Racing in Costa Mesa.
Slevin intended to turn it into a track car but couldn’t bring himself to cut up such an original specimen and offered it in 2003 to a good home and the car went to Frank & Kathy Mickadeit in Coto de Caza. They drove the car occasionally to Cars & Coffee and R-Gruppe events. In 2008 the car was exported to Europe and delivered to a Porsche collector in Germany who understood the originality of this 911.

We decided to give this ’66 Porsche a full, bare-metal lacquer repaint after dealing with some surface concerns, though no evidence of prior body damage or repair was found. Here we also found the last 4 digits of the Chassis number stamped in the doors, the engine lid, and the trunk lid. Also, the photos show no filler on the bare metal, so the car has been absolutely accident free, unique for a SWB 911. The interior was found to be in near-perfect original condition and was left as-is. The Engine has been completely rebuilt by the previous owner and the engine is dry, tight, and runs extremely well. Even the paint on the air cleaner can is nearly perfect.

With its fresh repaint and all-original interior, this outstanding, numbers-matching two-liter 911 presents beautifully throughout. The Porsche is supplied with invoices relating to its maintenance of the whole period of the car and photos of the recent paint work. It is ready to provide its next fortunate owner many more hours of driving enjoyment.
