By the 1980s, any trace of the character that defined the American performance cars of the 1960s was, by law, gone, well, almost. Deep in the corners of the engineering and marketing departments of auto companies hid rebellious people who could transform fairly innocent regular models into something almost enjoyable.

The Trans-Am was available with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder up to the 5.0-liter V-8. Optional again: the TPI (Tuned Port Injection) version, now available with a manual or automatic gearbox.

Performance enthusiasts got a new choice: a beastly, if not filthy, GTA rendition of the long-lived Trans Am. In addition to such exterior items as a revised spoiler and rocker skirts, the $2,700 GTA option included the largest V-8 produced in years. under Firebird hoods was: 350-cid (5.7-litre), lifted from Corvette, with tuned port injection.

This Trans Am GTA is in a beautiful original condition. The car has retained all original body panels and GM factory paint. It was delivered in a red 'Flame red metallic' paint with 'Gold metallic' accents and details. The fabric interior is finished in the dark red 'Burgundy' colour. The entire interior is original GM and is like new. The dashboard, door panels, steering wheel, gauges, radio and headliner are perfect and need no attention. This car has the overhead console with map lighting, on-board computer and automatically tilting rear-view mirror. The power fold down hatch at the rear is pinned down perfectly and pulls the hatch down and locks it as designed by GM.

This Pontiac was imported to the Netherlands from America in 2020. This is demonstrable with the invoices that are present.

The wheels are in the original GM special GTA 'Cross-lace-style' and look like new. The lugs still have all caps, valves even have the original gray caps. The brakes are original and work well.

More sought after aspects that are present are things like; air conditioning, electric locks, electric windows and a graphic equalizer.

This car has the largest engine offered in 1987 with its 5.7 liter (350 V8) which had about 245 hp. The transmission is the GM stock automatic with overdrive. The engine and transmission work like new with tons of power and torque with nice crisp shifts. The exhaust system is the original GM the car was built with and still has the original catalytic converter

Various import invoices are available. In addition, there is also a 'Certificate of Title' from 1993 for the state of Indiana.
