HISTORY/DOCUMENTATION
A distinctive and characterful British roadster with a stylish, timeless body: that, in essence, is the Panther Kallista. The car was built by Panther Westwinds between 1982 and 1990 and, with approximately 1,437 units produced, is a rare sight. The Kallista was available with various Ford powertrains, including a 1.6-litre four-cylinder, a 2.0-litre and the much-loved 2.8-litre V6 from the Ford Cologne engine family, which gives the car its most powerful and sought-after specification. This particular Kallista was built in 1985 and is fitted with that 2.8 V6, which delivers a smooth and powerful driving experience that perfectly suits the roadster’s light-footed character. This car has been meticulously maintained and comes with a comprehensive folder of documentation, including technical manuals, numerous invoices for new parts, extensive history – including historical photographs from England – and a valuation report. Thanks to its year of manufacture, the car is exempt from road tax.
EXTERIOR
The car was delivered new in England in 1985 and was brought to the Netherlands in 2003. Since then, it has been maintained with care and attention, which is clearly evident in its overall condition. The bodywork is in neat condition with only slight signs of wear, as would be expected of a classic car that has been driven regularly. The paintwork has a well-maintained appearance, and the chrome parts, trim and rubber seals are also in good condition. The body panels fit together tightly. The windows are tinted. The car has a bold look, finished in black paint (repainted in the past) with black alloy wheels. The headlights and fog lights are fitted with black headlight grilles.
INTERIOR
The interior of this right-hand-drive Kallista is also immaculately maintained. The beautiful seats are upholstered in beige leather, which, together with the wooden accents on the dashboard, create a classic British ambience. The steering wheel and gear knob are finished in wood. The seats offer a remarkable level of comfort for an open-top roadster. A radio/CD player is fitted. In addition to the soft top, an extra cover is also provided, making the car practical in changeable weather conditions.
TECHNICAL
Technically speaking, the Kallista drives lightly and responsively, with smooth steering, reliable brakes and a well-tuned powertrain that makes the most of the 2.8 V6. The engine is fitted with fuel injection and delivers approximately 135 pk. The whole car feels solid and honest, exactly as a classic roadster should drive. The underbody is in excellent condition. The manual gearbox has 5 speeds. For anyone looking for a characterful, rare and affordably priced British classic, this Panther Kallista offers a particularly well-rounded combination of style, driving pleasure and experience.
