The Austin Healey Sprite

Designed by Donald Healey to make sports car driving more affordable, the Sprite went into production in 1958 at MG's Abingdon plant. The new car was officially introduced in Monte Carlo a few months later, just before the Monte Carlo Rally, underlining the brand's sporting intentions for the new car. The one-piece body featured a distinctive rear-hinged combined bonnet and wings, topped by twin 'frog's eye' headlamps, ensuring instant recognition and the now-familiar nickname.

The Sprite we offer has some very rare details. Including places of the reinforcement points and the narrow windshield frame.

The color combination is also tasteful, the body is painted in red. A very nice combination with the black interior of which the seat upholstery is finished with white piping. Also very beautiful is the new black convertible top.
The Sprite also still has its original steel hood.

This Sprite was originally delivered new in Sweden. The Sprite has hardly been driven in recent years and has been in a collection. If you want to make a lot of kilometers with it, a technical check is recommended.

The body of this Sprite is neat. The doors, sills, fenders, hood and trunk lid have neat fits.
The paintwork is in fine condition.
The car has recently been fitted with a new convertible top, with 9 push buttons above the windscreen. A feature of the first 6,000 MKIs produced. A few attachment points on the hood and car still need to be mounted. As well as the windshield washers.
