The Austin Healey 3000 came on the market in 1959 and production continued until 1967. The 3000 was the successor to its predecessor, the 100-6. However, the previous model had an engine with less displacement (2.6 liters) and less horsepower, compared to the 3000 which is equipped with a 2.9 liter engine.
During the 8 years of production of the popular Austin-Healey 3000, 3 different versions were released. These were the MK1, the MK2 and the MK3.
The "big Healey's" series, which started with the Austin-Healey 100, is still a highly sought-after affordable classic among a wide audience, appreciated by the strong 6-cylinder engine, the appearance of a real beautiful sports car and the refined lines. designed by designer Gerry Coker.
This stainless Healey blue Austin-Healey 3000 MK I, four-seater is a special car, originally exported to the USA, where it has been in the possession of the 1st owner for 48 years and during that time it has only driven 20,000 miles. The first admission was in April 1961.
In November 2009 the car was sold in the Netherlands to the 2nd owner, who is said to have driven the car without any problems and the car has remained in its original condition all this time.
The current odometer reading of the Healey indicates 62,000 miles and still has the original exhaust, - dark blue leather interior with white piping, - dark blue carpet set, - bottom of the car in blue paint, perfectly fitting body seams, doors that close as a German car.
Factory supplied options: Wire wheels, Heating, Adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, Plexiglas deflector side windows L + R, overdrive, ashtray, Mass switch in the trunk.
Dark blue hardtop mounted and dark blue soft top and tonneau cover present. On the badge bar are 2 Lucas fog lamps mounted with a Period spotlight in the middle. The Motorola transistor radio completes the 60s experience.
As far as documentation is concerned, the following is in place. A BMIHT (British Motor Industry Heritage Trust) Certificate, original manual, rich amount of invoices and a workshop manual.
