The Aston Martin DB2/4 was introduced in 1953 as a successor to the DB2 and produced until 1957.

In the first year of production, the Aston Martin DB2/4 was equipped with the same Lagonda six-in-line engine with double overhead camshafts as found in the DB2 Vantage. A 2.6 L with 125hp and 93kW. That could of course be better, and later that same year a 2.9 L version was introduced with 140 hp and 104 kW. This engine was good for a top speed of 193 km/h.

The MKII was a major advance over the MKI especially aesthetically. The roofline was modified, the taillights were nicely incorporated into the rear fins. It also got a much nicer rear with a third door and a large rear window.

Of the only 199 DB2/4 MkIIs produced in total, this one with chassis number 1264 is one of the last 35. The car is still equipped with its original engine and gearbox, so the car has matching numbers.

The very extensive well-documented history, consisting of binders, including the original build sheet, invoices, correspondence and restoration report.

The color combination is also very tasteful, the body is painted in Connaught Green. A very nice contrast with the beige Connolly leather interior. The Cashmere headlining is also very beautiful. Three-point seat belts were fitted during the restoration as a modification. The roll-up mechanism is very nicely concealed.

This DB2/4 was originally delivered new in the United Kingdom. And registered on Dutch license plate since 2019. All mileages of the entire history have been meticulously recorded in a logbook.

In March 2018 at mileage 99,668, the Aston Martin was thoroughly overhauled by Aston Martin specialist Davron in Dinton UK. This specialist also replaced the clutch and flywheel in June 2012. In addition, a general engine overhaul was carried out by this company in January 2009.

This Aston Martin is in very good condition and was fully restored to Bare metal, nuts & bolts from November 1979 to April 1980. A very extensive report is available on this. More than 40 years later, the paintwork is still in very good condition. The body has great fits of the sills, fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid.

If you as an Aston Martin enthusiast are looking for a beautiful and great driving DB 2/4 MkII and want to participate in the Mille Miglia, then this is the time to enjoy this car.
