The Alfa Romeo (2600 type 106.02) was introduced in 1962 as a successor to the 2000 Sprint and produced until 1966.

This Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint from the last production year was equipped with a six-in-line engine with double overhead camshafts. A 2.6 L with 145 hp and 107 kW. This engine was good for a top speed of 200 km/h.

The last model year had a number of changes compared to the earlier model years. four, previously until 1964 had only front disc brakes) disc brakes, with ignition switch on the right of the handlebars (until 1966 ignition on the left).

In addition to these technical adjustments, the interior also received a number of changes. Three-piece stainless steel front and rear bumpers (previously full chrome bumpers), natural full leather interior (Fa.Frau), front and rear seats with leather perforations for ventilation, new backrests with adjustable seat fittings that fold back at the touch of a button ( Recaro) with only 2 mounting screws on top, combined starter steering lock to the right of the steering column (previously only left ignition switch), red open door warning lights, new recessed door handles, modified hood lock without the previously opening coil spring, wood veneer dashboard (painted on previous models) and relocated control knobs , new armrests in the door frames with integrated front door handles, new door opener handles with integrated door locks. Double switch for both power windows in the driver's door and an additional passenger door switch for the right window control.

Out of a total of only 6,999 produced 2,000 and 2,600, this one with chassis number 5986 is one of the later copies. The car is still equipped with its original engine and gearbox, so the car has matching numbers.

The very extensive well-documented history, consisting of a few files, including invoices, correspondence and restoration reports.

The color combination is also very tasteful, the body is painted in "Rubino" red. A very nice contrast with the gray ''Frau'' leather interior.

This rare 2600 Sprint was originally delivered new in Italy. And registered on German registration since 2017. Many mileages of the entire history have been meticulously recorded in a logbook.

In 2011, the Alfa Romeo was thoroughly overhauled. The bodywork was completely repainted at this specialist.
Later in 2018, the Alfa was technically tackled. Major overhaul and balancing drive shaft, radiator repaired in specialist workshop with new high-performance network, 2018 new front right wheel bearing, 2019 new cylinder head gasket and cylinder head and valves overhauled (engine builder with original invoice), many invoices reproduced rare original Alfa Romeo rubber boot liner and mat, original jack and wheel wrench, extra hand crank for electric side windows, original radio Grundig Auto Super AS 40 with a telescopic antenna.

This Alfa Romeo 2600 in very good condition is a feast for the eyes. More than 10 years later, the paintwork is still in very good condition. The body has great fits of the sills, fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid.
