De Testarossa. Een van de meest iconische modellen van Ferrari. De luxeuze sportwagen was uitgerust met de 12 cilinder middenmotor. Hij werd tentoongesteld in de Lido Nightclub op de Champs Elysées in Paris in Oktober 1984 als opvolger van de Berlinetta Boxer. Pininfarina gaf een andere draai aan zijn design van de side-intake wat destijds als 'traditie brekend' werd gezien, maar later is getransformeerd tot een van de meest herkende aspecten van de Testarossa. De Ferrari Testarossa-motor was de eerste keer dat een Ferrari-wegauto een platte 12-cilinderconfiguratie had die was uitgerust met vier kleppen per cilinder, maar hij behield dezelfde capaciteit van 4,9 liter als de 512 BBi-motor.

Productie liep van 1984 tot 1991. Na het einde van de productie van de Testarossa, ontstonden er 2 modelrevisies die de 512 TR en de F512 M werden genoemd. Deze werden geproduceerd vanaf 1992 tot 1996. Van de originele Testarossa's zijn er door de jaren heen in totaal slechts 7177 exemplaren geproduceerd, waarvan 819 stuks in 1986.

Grotendeels zijn de Testarossa's geleverd in de iconische 'Rosso' kleur. Dit exemplaar is geleverd in een stuk meer zeldzame zilveren 'Argento Metallizzato'. Deze prachtige zilveren metallic lak vormt een zeldzame combinatie met het 'Nero' lederen interieur. Deze iconische Ferrari werd verkocht bij de Duitse Ferrari dealer Wichelhausen te Hamburg. Dit is aan te tonen met de originele aankoopfactuur die aanwezig is.

De Testarossa is in bezit van de titels 'Monospecchio' en 'Monodado'. Dit is wat de auto zeer speciaal maakt. Monospecchio, vertaald naar 'enkele spiegel' is kenmerkend voor Testarossa's uit de eerste jaren. De eerste modellen waren voornamelijk uitgevoerd met deze enkele hoge spiegel, maar deze werd in 1987 afgeschaft vanwege het gebrek aan visie vanuit de spiegel. De enkele spiegel ontstond omdat de wetgeving in Italië destijds bepaalde dat het zicht naar achteren niet mocht worden belemmerd door carrosserie-delen van de auto. Vanwege het hoge achterspatbord moest de spiegel heel hoog worden geplaatst. De reden dat men koos voor slechts één spiegel is dat het onmogelijk zou zijn om vanuit een normale rijpositie in de andere spiegel te kijken. Deze wetgeving werd in 1987 net als de spiegel, verlaagd. De wetgeving veranderde naar een eis van niet 100% visie, maar dat er maar 80% visie vereist is. Zodra Ferrari dit hoorde, schaften ze de enkele spiegel af, en pasten toen de 2 lagere spiegels toe. Dit resulteerde met dat de Monospecchio exemplaren een heel stuk zeldzamer zijn dan de reguliere dubbele spiegel exemplaren. Als pre-1988 exemplaar heeft deze auto ook de aantrekkelijke en zeldzame Monodado single-bolt 16-inch wielen, in tegenstelling tot de five-bolt wielen op latere auto's. Deze kenmerken maken deze Testarossa een zéér zeldzaam en gewild exemplaar!

Deze Ferrari verkeert in een uiterst nette conditie. Van de carrosserie tot aan het interieur! Dit betekent ook dat hij compleet roestvrij is. Het zwarte lederen interieur straalt één en al sportiviteit en klasse uit. Van de oranje kleurige klokken tot de zwarte 'pookbal' schakelpook. Deze ruime 2-zitter is echt een lust voor het oog. De velgen zijn van beeldschone kwaliteit en vormen een fraaie combinatie samen met de zilveren lak. In de kofferruimte van de auto is de originele toolkit te vinden.

Het is goed te zien dat de voorgaande eigenaren dit exemplaar met liefde en passie hebben verzorgd. Dit heeft zonder twijfel ook invloed gehad op de huidige staat van de auto. Hij heeft in een collectie gezeten tussen meerdere unieke auto's waaronder Iso Grifo's. Dit verklaart dan ook de lage kilometerstand van slechts 72.554. Dit is aantoonbaar met de aanwezige documentatie. Hiernaast zijn er nog meer diverse vormen van documentatie aanwezig. De originele aankoopfactuur uit 1986 en een aankoopfactuur uit 1996 zijn nog aanwezig! Hiernaast zijn er diverse facturen van onderhoud aanwezig van door de jaren heen. Hiermee is aantoonbaar dat de auto goed is onderhouden. Recentelijk zijn de remmen ook voorzien van een revisie.
De eerste eigenaar heeft hem tot het jaar 1995 gehad en heeft hem op dat moment doorverkocht aan de tweede Duitse eigenaar. Een tijdje later en hij valt in het bezit van de 3e en de huidige Nederlandse eigenaar. Deze eigenaar heeft hem in 1996 op Nederlands kenteken geregistreerd. Zoals eerder vermeld, zijn er sindsdien weinig kilometers afgelegd met de Ferrari. Na meer dan 26 jaar in bezit te zijn van de prachtige Italiaanse sportauto, is hij nu op zoek naar een nieuwe eigenaar.

The Testarossa. One of Ferrari's most iconic models. The luxury sports car was equipped with the 12-cylinder mid-engine. It was displayed at the Lido Nightclub on the Champs Elysées in Paris in Oct 1984 as the successor to the Berlinetta Boxer. Pininfarina put a different spin on its side-intake design which was seen as 'tradition breaking' at the time, but later transformed into one of the most recognised aspects of the Testarossa. The Ferrari Testarossa engine was the first time a Ferrari road car had a flat 12-cylinder configuration equipped with four valves per cylinder, but it retained the same 4.9-litre capacity as the 512 BBi engine.

Production ran from 1984 to 1991. After production of the Testarossa ended, 2 model revisions called the 512 TR and the F512 M emerged. These were produced from 1992 to 1996. Of the original Testarossas, a total of only 7177 were produced over the years, including 819 in 1986.

Largely, the Testarossas were delivered in the iconic 'Rosso' colour. This example came in a lot more rare silver 'Argento Metallizzato'. This beautiful silver metallic paint makes a rare combination with the 'Nero' leather interior. This iconic Ferrari was sold at the German Ferrari dealer Wichelhausen in Hamburg. This can be proven by the original purchase invoice which is present.

The Testarossa holds the titles 'Monospecchio' and 'Monodado'. This is what makes the car very special. Monospecchio, translated to 'single mirror' is characteristic of Testarossas from the early years. Early models were mainly equipped with this single high mirror, but it was abolished in 1987 due to the lack of vision from the mirror. The single mirror came about because legislation in Italy at the time stipulated that rearward vision should not be obstructed by bodywork parts of the car. Because of the high rear mudguard, the mirror had to be placed very high. The reason for choosing only one mirror is that it would be impossible to see into the other mirror from a normal driving position. Like the mirror, this legislation was lowered in 1987. The legislation changed to a requirement of not 100% vision, but that only 80% vision was required. As soon as Ferrari heard this, they abolished the single mirror, and then applied the 2 lower mirrors. This resulted with that the Monospecchio specimens are quite a bit rarer than the regular double mirror ones. As a pre-1988 specimen, this car also has the attractive and rare Monodado single-bolt 16-inch wheels, as opposed to the five-bolt wheels on later cars. These features make this Testarossa a very rare and sought-after specimen!

This Ferrari is in very clean condition. From the bodywork to the interior! This also means that it is completely rust free. The black leather interior exudes sportiness and class. From the orange-coloured clocks to the black 'gear ball' gear lever. This spacious 2-seater is truly a sight to behold. The rims are of picture-perfect quality and form a beautiful combination together with the silver paint. In the car's boot, the original toolkit can be found.

It is easy to see that the previous owners took care of this car with love and passion. This no doubt also influenced the car's current condition. It has been in a collection among several unique cars including Iso Grifos. This therefore explains the low mileage of only 72,554. This is demonstrable with the available documentation. In addition, there are several other forms of documentation present. The original purchase invoice from 1986 and a purchase invoice from 1996 are still present! In addition, there are various maintenance invoices present from over the years. This proves that the car has been well maintained. The brakes have also recently been overhauled.
The first owner had it until 1995, when he sold it on to the second German owner. A while later and it falls into the possession of the 3rd and current Dutch owner. This owner registered it on Dutch registration plates in 1996. As mentioned earlier, few kilometres have been covered with the Ferrari since then. Having owned the beautiful Italian sports car for over 26 years, it is now looking for a new owner.
