De Plymouth P15-serie werd gebouwd van 1946 tot 1950 en was daarmee het eerste na-oorloogse fabricaat van het merk. Er was keuze uit een De Luxe of Special De Luxe uitvoering en men kon kiezen voor een twee- of vierdeurs sedan, club coupé, business coupé, convertible coupé of wood-body stationwagon. Het merk Plymouth werd in 1928 opgericht door Chrysler. Plymouth was het “goedkope” model van Chrysler zijn maar werd later een op zichzelf staand merk. De naam Plymouth is een verwijzing naar de Plymouth Colony die de Engelsen stichtten in Amerika in 1920. De keuze voor die merknaam verwijst naar de duurzaamheid, kracht en uithoudingsvermogen van de kolonisten. Het logo van Plymouth is een verwijzing naar de “Mayflower”, de naam van het schip waarmee de Engelsen naar Amerika voeren.

The Plymouth P15 series was built from 1946 to 1950, making it the brand's first post-war manufacture. There was a choice of De Luxe or Special De Luxe trim and one could choose a two- or four-door sedan, club coupé, business coupé, convertible coupé or wood-body station wagon. The Plymouth brand was founded in 1928 by Chrysler. Plymouth was the "cheap" model of Chrysler are but later became a standalone brand. The name Plymouth is a reference to the Plymouth Colony that the English founded in America in 1920. The choice of that brand name refers to the colonists' durability, strength and endurance. Plymouth's logo is a reference to the "Mayflower", the name of the ship on which the English sailed to America.
